I found a cool store/website for natural products

Yesterday while shopping with a friend in Sudbury, MA I ended up in Perfectly Natural, an eco boutique. The store carries an amazing selection of natural products including apparel, pet supplies, home decor, and body products. Owner Peter Totfalusi was extemely helpful and knowledgable. My favorite items were the soy candles, the Ecoist cluthes, and the Citizen Solar Eco-Drive watches.

Check out the website at: http://perfectlynaturalhome.com/
For a limited time everything on the website is 10% off and there is free shipping on orders over $45.

Present for Mom

My mom's birthday was the other day. I had no idea what to get her so I asked for advise from a co-worker. She recommended a Pandora bracelet. She has one and her family gets her beads for special occations. I loved the idea of giving a gift that I could add onto over time. The basic silver bracelet is only $50 and the beads range from $15-$1,100. So the bracelets can be as expensive or reasonable as you want. You can check them out at:

My mom loved it and now I'm set for many birthdays, Mother's Days, and Christmas's to come!

I just can't get enough books

My husband and I both LOVE to read. I love short stories, novels, biographies, business books, and cookbooks while my husband is obsessed with WWII books. If we bought every book new at Barnes and Noble we would soon be broke. Instead we trade books with people all across the US on Paperback Swap. You pay to ship a book to someone and in return get a credit for a book of your choice. There are over 2.5 million books on the site so chances are you will find something you're looking for. If what you want is not there just add it to your wish list and as soon as it's posted it will be reserved for you! According to the website my husband and I have save $1,251 by using this site. If you would like to try it for yourself just click the link below. Have fun!
BTW, in case you were wondering about the cookbooks. It's true, I don't cook. I just like to read them :)

PaperBackSwap.com - Our online book club offers free books when you swap, trade, or exchange your used books with other book club members for free.

My Fav Trend Du Jour

My favorite trend right now is opaque tights in fun colors. It's an easy inexpensive way to make a boring outfit cute. The best colors right now are dark purple, burgundy, and royal blue. Please make sure the rest of your outfit is pretty simple to avoid looking like a clown. You can get these tights almost anywhere but here are some great options:

Awesome restaurants in (and around) Boston

As I have stated before I love to eat. But I don't cook, so we go out to dinner frequently. For my husband and my anniversary we went to Clio. It is celebrity chef Ken Oringer's restaurant at The Elliot Hotel on Commonwealth Ave. We had the tasting menu and it was amazing! The service was great as well which is sometimes just as important as the food. You can view the menu at http://www.cliorestaurant.com/. Just make sure your have plenty of moola...

While I love fine dining we usually go out for more casual fare. I really like Border Cafe in Cambridge. Yummy margaritas and fish tacos. They also have locations in Saugus and Burlington. I really like the atmosphere. You can get info at http://www.bordercafe.com/

Last week we went to Elephant Walk in Waltham. They are also located on Beacon St. in Boston and in Cambridge. They offer an impressive menu of Cambodian and French cuisine. The food was delicious and authentic. They also have a whole page of gluten-free options which is pretty rare. You can check out their website and blog at http://www.elephantwalk.com/.

A better way to clean

Toxins are everywhere. According to Karen Girardo, owner of http://www.justnaturalproducts.com, "More (chemicals) is less (quality of life) particularly as we consider all the chemicals that we come into contact with on a daily basis". I agree so I've switched all of my household cleaning products to all natural products. They are more expensive, but they work as well or better than conventional products and last longer.

Nowadays there are many options. I use Just Natural Products, but you can also get natural cleaning products from: http://www.seventhgeneration.com

Or make your own with recipes from:http://http//www.eartheasy.com/live_nontoxic_solutions.htm

Yummy!

I like food. So, I care about farmers. I wanted to find a way to support my local farmers so I went to http://www.localharvest.org and looked up the farms near my house. I live close to Boston so I was shocked when 18 results appeared.
These farms offer everything from fresh flowers to pick-your-own fruit to every veggie you could imagine. It's important to buy local and support family farms. This site makes it easier to do that. Great, now I'm hungry...

I can't live without coffee!

I love coffee. If I was stuck on a desert island I would bring coffee, sunscreen, and a really long book. But I make horrible coffee, so I invested in a Keurig K-cup coffee maker. So now I just fill the tank with water, pop in the cup, and press a button. The only issue is that with the obscene amount of coffee I drink everyday the k-cups can be kinda pricey. The best value is to buy them from http://www.greatcoffee.com. They carry a number of flavors from Newman's Own and Green Mountain. They have frequent sales and offer free shipping on 6 or more boxes. I usually buy 10 boxes at a time...Don't judge.

Bling Bling

What girl does not love jewelry? I love quality jewelry at a reasonable price. I also love parties. So the idea of a jewelry party sounds like a great time to me. Lia Sophia is a direct sales jewelry company which means that a representative will come to your house with catalogs and samples of the jewelry for you and your friends to try on. I hosted a party recently. Everyone had a great time and I received a percentage of the night's sales in free jewelry!

Hungersite.com

Everyday I visit the website thehungersite.com and click the button to donate food to hunger people for free! According to the website, "It is estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That's roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year. " Visiting the website and clicking the button everyday is the fastest and easiest way to help people in need. The food is donated by website advertisers and from sales from thehungersitestore.com. I admit that I look like a dork sometimes

Sometime I will trade comfort for style. My favorite slippers look pretty dorky, but they are the most wonderfully cozy things you will every put your feet in. Restoration Hardware calls them Foot duvets. "The outer coverings are made of finely woven combed cotton; soles feature non-skid nibs. Foot duvets are unisex and have tan plush lining." Everyday I look forward to putting them on when I get home. And at only $20, I don't mind looking like a dork sometimes.

I'm obsessed!!!

I'm not usually one who obsesses over the latest technology but I have to admit that this time I am! I've been wanting a new phone for a while now but hadn't found anything in my price range that offered much more than I already had with my LG Chocolate. I looked into the iPhone, but was not willing to switch to AT&T. But now I've found the Blackberry Storm! At only $199 (with rebate, 2 year calling plan, etc.) the Storm has everything I want and more. It has a full QWERTY keyboard, expandable memory, a full HTML browser, a built in GPS, and is Bluetooth headset compatable. It has a better camera than the iPhone (3.2 megapixels vs. iPhone's 2 megapixels) and has video capabilities. Best of all it is a Blackberry! All I know is that if my husband does not come home with a Blackberry Storm for me this Friday (launch day) he better not come home.

Earth Friendly Dog Gifts

I'm trying to be more environmentally friendly with my holiday shopping this year. So when shopping for my family's dogs I went to OliveGreenDog.com. Olive is dedicated to bringing the largest variety of healthful and environmentally conscious dog products to the Internet. They offer toys, clothing, beds, food, treats, and basically everything you need to take care of your precious dog friend while being kind to the environment. My sister has two dogs and my parents have one so I bought three organic plush toys for the special dogs in my family. The plush toys are from Simply Fido. They are safe and non-toxic, saliva resistant, and utilize an organic dye process. Nothing is too good for our fur babies!
