Educate Yourself About Your Food!

I find myself having frequent discussions with people on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and even Pinterest whenever I post an article about health, animal cruelty, or the environment.

I have noticed that most people respond with their opinions instead of with factual information. It's difficult to have productive conversations when this is the case. I recommend that everyone educate themselves before responding to posts on social media sites.

Here are some resources that I recommend:

Books

The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted And the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss, And Long-term Health by Dr. T. Colin Campbell

Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease: The Revolutionary, Scientifically Proven, Nutrition-Based Cure by Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr.

The craft beer meet-up is a social networking event intended for anyone who loves beer.  You do not need a twitter account to attend.  You do not need to know anyone to attend...come meet some new friends!  In fact, bring your friends, bring your family, bring random strangers!

The event will be casual.  No agenda.  Come, drink, talk beer, make friends.  Our meetups are FREE to attend, although you are responsible for cost of food and drinks that you order.

People new to the craft-beer scene should not hesitate to join us; you won't find anything intimidating about the event...folks with all levels of beer-knowledge will be represented.

Location
Lord Hobo - Cambridge, MA.
From Bostom Magazine: "80 rare brews—German pilsners, Belgian ales, and the like—half of them on tap. Other local bars may have more variety, but none are so cutting-edge. For the cocktail crowd, a crack team of mixologists serves smart interpretations of the classics (their spin on a Manhattan, the Rambler, comes with a splash of Amaro Nonino instead of the usual Angostura bitters). And the wine list shows real expertise."
Time/Date
Saturday September 15th.  1pm - 4pm.
Door prizes drawing at 3:00.

Directions & Parking
Use Google or your GPS.  Directions should be straight forward. Limited steet parking is available (bring quarters).  Most guests with a car will want to park at the Kendall Square Cinema parking garage.

Beer Gift Basket
Massachusetts Girls Pint Out and High and Mighty Brewing have teamed up to provide an awesome gift basket full of delisious beeriness!
Girls’ Pint Out is a national craft beer organization for women. With chapters all over the country, Girls’ Pint Out brings together women who are interested in craft beer. Through monthly events and online collaboration, women involved with Girls Pint Out have the opportunity and resources to become active the in the craft beer community.

High & Mighty Beer Company began in 2006 as an offshoot of Shelton Brothers beer importing company.
